At Sanctuary For Veterans, we aim to provide a facility that provides them with resources and establish a supportive community that welcomes Veterans, appreciates their hard work, and provides them with a lending hand to them and their families so they can start a new beginning.

Our Vision and Purpose

Every Veteran should have access to basic resources and utilities, shelter, food, a supportive environment and assistance so that they can look forward to a sustainable future.

According to our research, homelessness can have a profound physical and mental health effect on anyone, including military Veterans., Homelessness can lead to family conflicts, adjustment issues, and overall community suffering due to the social and health costs involved. At Sanctuary For Veterans, we aim to put an end to Veterans’ homelessness, becoming a beacon of hope. With our help and your support, we will to break the wheel and end the ongoing problem of homelessness for Veterans. We offer valuable insight and assistance by meeting their housing needs so that they can live with the dignity and peace of mind they deserve.

Our Leadership

Our CEO

Motivated by a deep dedication to empowering and assisting homeless Veterans, Merlande Pierre is the committed leader at the heart of Sanctuary for Veterans. Her academic background provides a strong basis for her support of Veterans. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Development. Ms. Pierre’s commitment to understanding the complex issues of human growth and development is shown by her extensive study in the subject.

Certification

Ms. Pierre broadened her horizons in 2016 when she graduated from Berlin, Germany’s Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft, also known as the University of Applied Sciences for Engineering and Economics, with her first Master’s degree in Economic Development. Her approach to dealing with the difficulties experienced by Veterans is enriched by the global perspective and insights she gleaned during this experience.

Ms. Pierre’s academic career came to an end in 2020 when she graduated with a Master’s degree in social work from the University of the Rio Grande Valley. This accomplishment reflects her continuous commitment to improving the lives of those who have bravely served our nation!

Purpose And Commitment

Under Ms. Pierre’s motivating direction, Sanctuary for Veterans was founded in 2017. Her dedication to offering complete, 24-hour services, support, and shelter for Veterans who are at risk of homelessness are highly visible in this project. Using her practical expertise in providing housing support services, she has established secure environments that uphold the values of dignity, privacy, empathy, independence and self-governance. Sanctuary for Veteran’s projects are designed to meet Veterans’ urgent needs while also promoting their long-term well-being, thanks to Ms. Pierre’s leadership and commitment to safe, trustworthy connections. Under her direction, Sanctuary for Veterans maintains its status as a ray of hope, representing an encouraging environment for those who have served our country.
